Senior Project Manager - Store Construction: 

Job Overview:

The Senior Project Manager will lead and coordinate a team of project managers in the UK & Ireland for EssilorLuxottica brands, which include Vision Express, David Clulow, Sunglass Hut, Ray-Ban, and Oakley. This role involves overseeing all stages of retail store development, from planning and design to construction and quality assurance, ensuring timely and budget-compliant delivery.

Key Responsibilities of the position:

 
  • Coordinate project management activities and assign tasks to team members.
  • Oversee the planning, design, and construction of retail stores within the region. We are expecting up to 60 projects for the next year, split between the Vision Express Estate as well as the Essilor Luxxotica estate (David Clulow, Sunglasses Hut, Oakley, Rayban ETC). The average floorspace for a project will be between 100-500m2.
    • Utilize local consultants for project engineering and permit processes.
    • Manage relationships with local authorities and stakeholders including mall and airport representatives.
    • Define project scope, create schedules, and allocate resources effectively. This role will see you managing the CapEx of circa £25m annually.
    • Prepare technical reports and monitor project progress, addressing challenges as they arise.
    • Ensure quality execution and snag completion post-opening.
    • Communicate project status and updates to various stakeholders.
     

    Areas of Responsibility:

     Retail Store Delivery: Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to quality standards. Construction Budget Management: Evaluate and control budgetary costs and timelines. Quality Execution: Maintain high-quality standards during construction and address any deficiencies. Effective Communication: Relay construction updates and constraints to stakeholders efficiently. 

    Network of Interaction:

     
  • Internal: Collaborate with Construction, Logistics, Procurement, Planning, and Finance departments.
    • External: Work with general contractors, local consultants, permit expeditors, and material suppliers.
     

    Technical Skills:

     
  • Strong commitment to project goals and technical proficiency in resource management.
    • Excellent organizational and teamwork capabilities.
    • Effective reporting and problem-solving skills.
     

    Candidate Profile:

     
  • Master’s degree in Engineering or Architecture (or equivalent).
    • Proven experience of delivery in Construction Project Management.
    • Proven experience in leading a team.
     

    Languages:

     
  • English (mandatory)
    • Italian (preferred but not essential)
