Optical Assistant

A very exciting opportunity has become available for a customer focused Optical Assistant on a full time, permanent basis in a very busy practice in Market Drayton. I am recruiting currently for a franchise of one of the UK’s most trusted optical brands.

– Must have at a minimum experience of 1-year working in an opticians
– Must be able to dispense to all levels
– You will be able to work 4 or 5-days per week including a weekend day

This practice is situated on a busy high street and has a large and loyal customer base. They have a very friendly and welcoming team in place, who all work for each other to deliver the highest levels of customer care.
You will be working in a busy, 3-test room practice with around 10 staff. You will be surrounded by a very friendly team in a relaxed and supportive work environment. They are big on team building and work to provide an excellent customer experience.

Responsibilities of the Optical Assistant

Each Optical Assistant in practice will have a varied role from dispensing, being involved in the Contact Lens department (focussing on teaches and direct debits), a Clinical Assistant (pre-screening and overseeing patients going in for tests). You will also be involved with frame styling, adjustments, collections and giving patients advice. Reception duties and general admin will also be a part of the role and helping with the smooth running of the practice.

Requirements of the Optical Assistant

As an Optical Assistant within this practice you will work on the shopfloor in the dispensing team. You will be able to dispense spectacles to all levels, conduct pre-screen tests and perform contact lens teaches. You will be on hand to help junior members of the team with any difficult questions and general trouble shooting. As a member of the stores team you will have a valued input with best practice and clinical compliance.

Compensation for the Optical Assistant

For your efforts a salary of up to £23,000 depending on experience and qualifications as well as a bonus scheme, along with a company benefits, 4 weeks holiday and ongoing training a development. You will also have the opportunity to join a professional team in a fun and relaxed environment.
