AN EXCITING OPTOMETRIST ROLE WITH THE OPTION OF FITTING COMPLEX CONTACT LENSES IN OUR HOSPITAL CONTACT LENS CLINIC!

We are looking for an Optometrist to join our team in Oxted for 3 days to 5 days (24 hours - 40 hours per week: 9am - 5:30pm with no Sunday's). Paid professional fees (GOC and professional indemnity which is currently the AOP – pro rata if part time).

When you join Bayfields Opticians and Audiologists, you are joining an independent business.  Although we are national, we are not a huge chain which means we understand the importance of local relationships and the power of choice.  We aim to deliver obsessively great service to each and every one of our clients which is at the core of what we do.  We have the latest diagnostic equipment, the latest technological advances in contact lenses, spectacle lenses and frames, and the latest fashions.

At Bayfields, we are passionate about the services we provide our clients in Oxted.  Our eye tests are so thorough which is why we only employ highly trained Optometrists to provide our clients with the best quality care and getting to know your clients in more depth.  You will provide a 45-minute eye exam which gives you time to really understand your Clients’ needs and lifestyle and then recommend solutions that fit best to that lifestyle by following the GOC and College of Optometry guidelines. The role could also include 1-2 days per week of hospital contact lens clinic.

Alongside having your Optometry Degree and being GOC registered, you will have excellent communication and listening skills with the ability to build strong relationships with your team members, peers, and clients. Accuracy and attention to detail are vital for this role in line with being able to make clear recommendations and clinical decisions.

As an integral member of the team, we will provide an enjoyable professional working environment which is fun, open and where we are committed to supporting you, your professional development, and your personal wellbeing.  We will also provide a wide range of benefits, including:

£65k per annum. 5 weeks’ holiday, plus bank holidays. An additional day’s holiday for your birthday each year. Company pension scheme. Cycle to work scheme. Simply Health Medical Healthcare. Family & friends discounts (Eye-Tests, Glasses, Sunglasses & Hearing Tests). Paid professional fees (GOC and professional indemnity which is currently the AOP - pro rata if part time). We are unable to offer a Certificate of Sponsorship with this role.

If you are ready for a new and exciting opportunity and your values align with ours, then we would love to hear from you!

Company

We’re an independent family of over 50 optician and audiologist practices across the UK, with our head office in Yorkshire. But more than that, we’re problem-solvers, collaborators and friends.

We exist because we want to provide a better standard of care. To do this we spend more time with clients to find out how their unique lifestyles can benefit from our help. This makes sure they get the result in the most patient, most empathetic, and, we believe, the best way possible.

It’s not just about raising the bar for our clients’ experience, but for our colleagues too. By working with us, you’re also finding another way to advance your career. A way that has technology and processes to match any global chain but keeps your focus firmly on our communities and the real people in them.

We’re looking for people who feel the same way to join us. Passionate optometrists, audiologists and practice team who want to advance their careers in an organisation that they’re proud to be a part of and will give them everything they need to be their best.
