Optical Assistant Position

A very exciting opportunity has become available for a part time customer focused Optical Assistant to join this thriving practice in Derby .They are looking for someone who is keen to help, grow and develop a new practice and be prepared to go above and beyond for both patients and colleagues. You must have a real passion for optics with a bubbly and exciting personality. Please note this role will be suitable for optometry students, or candidates looking to work weekends only! Optical experience is a must.

Responsibilities of the Optical Assistant (Part time)

The role will entail dispensing spectacles to all levels, conducting pre-screen tests and contact lens teaches. You will also be required to carry out frame styling and give patients advice on their options. Reception duties and general admin will also be a part of the role and help with the smooth running of the practice. Their aim is to continually improve the quality of services offered to their customers through staff training.

Requirements of the Optical Assistant

My client is looking for applicants with previous optical experience and the ability to dispense glasses to all levels. You will have a friendly and personable demeanour with a strong personal work ethic. It’s essential you have a customer-focused approach to your work and the ability to build a strong rapport with customers and colleagues alike.
