Optical Lab Technician

I have just had a new opportunity come up in the Southampton area who are looking to add an experienced Optical Lab Technician to their close-knit team.

This is working for a retail practice – no testing within the practice,
They need an experienced Technician who is able to glaze spectacles and fit the lenses into frames whilst making any required adjustments.
You may also be required for occasional dispensing
Need to be able to hit the ground running with full knowledge of optics.

* Up to £25,000 on offer (depending on experience)
* Nice sociable hours Monday to Friday 8:00am to 4pm with a later finish on Thursdays at 5pm
* Working with a complete open catalogue of frames and lenses from budget up to high-end (frames such as Rayban, Oakley, Prada and Tom Ford and lenses such as Carl Zeiss, Essilor, Jai Kudo and Hoya)

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Optical Lab Technician in a successful practice in Southampton.
You will need to be a strong team player, a real ‘people person’ and pride yourself in your punctuality and professionalism.

Responsibilities of the Optical Lab Technician

You will work within a busy practice in an all around role. You will mainly be glazing spectacles and fitting lenses into frames whilst making any required adjustments, you will also be helping patients with all their eye care needs, including contact lenses, designer frames and NHS eye care. You will also be dispensing spectacles and making sales as well as undertaking pre-screening, contact lens teaches and associated admin work.

Requirements for the Optical Lab Technician

You will need a minimum of 2 years experience as an Optical Lab Technician and it’s essential you can glaze spectacles to all levels.

Compensation for the Optical Assistant

On offer for the right person is a competitive salary up to £25k as well as company benefits and the opportunity to further your career.
Very nice hours – 8am to 4pm, Monday to Friday with a later finish on Thursdays until 5pm – no weekends or bank holidays.
