I have just taken on a vacancy for an established independent group that has a great reputation for customer service and integrity.
They have an opening for an Optometrist to work between two practices within fifteen minutes of each other with very different environments to work.

Practice one:
” No. of testing rooms? 2

” Composition of team 2 Opticians, 2 Dispensers, 1 Receptionist

” Trading Hours of branch 9-5.30, Thurs 9-7, Sat 9-4, Closed Sunday

Practice two:

” Patients mix Students, pensioners, affluent, NHS
” Most staff been here 10 years or more.
” Located on busy City Centre High Street
” Paid parking on street and in local side streets
” Composition of team 1 Optician, 1 Dispenser, 1 Receptionist

Optometrist Position

The practices have Phoropter, trial frames and computer records offer 30-40 minute testing time with all pre-checks done by the dispensing team.

The owners are professionals and drive the business forward, constantly looking at growing the portfolio.
They are looking for a talented and enthusiastic Optometrist, with a long-term outlook, to help shape the business and join a purpose-led team that puts its patients at the heart of everything they do.

Responsibilities of the Optometrist

You will be responsible for delivering the best possible care to all their patients and work closely as part of a strong team. The company’s goal is to deliver outstanding patient care, combined with sound dispensing advice and product recommendations that best suit individual customer needs. In addition, they aim to provide both their colleagues and customers with an overall excellent environment.

You will be responsible for contact lens fitting, aftercare advice, maintaining accurate patient records and keeping up to date with product and professional knowledge to conduct a thorough sight test offering your expert opinion and making recommendations. You will be on hand to answer any difficult questions and share your clinical knowledge with patients and the team.

Requirements of the Optometrist

To apply for this position you will need to be a fully qualified optometrist who is GOC registered and up to date with all CET requirements. You will have a patient-centred approach along with the ability to work well in a team. Additionally, you will have a successful career to date and be able to demonstrate great interpersonal skills, commercial awareness, and clinical expertise.

The role is for 5 days and there is Saturday working with opening hours of 9-5.30 Monday to Friday and 9-4 on Saturday, Closed on Sunday.
