Assistant Manager

This is a full time position working within a beautiful town within the North East Somerset area. This is a thriving practice and has continued to develop with a recent expansion in the last couple of years; this practice has now grown to a 7 test room practice hence is now looking for an Assistant Manager to support the long standing manager who has been there for over 20 years. This client is a franchisee for one of the most succesful and most recognised optical groups within the UK. As the Assistant Manager in this practice you will be the Practice Manager’s right hand and a valuable member of the team.

Responsibilities of the Assistant Manager

Experience in managerial positions is not essential but a desire to progress your optical career further is.
You will be managing the day to day operation with emphasis on the business side, staff training and monitoring KPIs and targets as well as ensuring all staffing requirements are met.
Your day will be split between management and dispensing with a ‘lead by example’ mentality.
You will take control of performance levels of the team by way of assessing their abilities and addressing their needs for development and participating in appraisals.

Requirements of the Assistant Manager

You will have:
” Present or previous experience in working in a small to medium size team in a busy testing practice
” Strong experience as an Optical Assistant with the ability to dispense to all levels
” A good understanding of KPIs and managing goals and targets – commercially aware/business mindset
” Desire to progress and develop further as the store grows.

Compensation for the Assistant Manager

For this role my client is offering a competitive salary of up to £25,000 for a non qualified Assistant Manager or up to £28,000 for a Qualified Dispesning Optician Assistant Manager (dependent on experience) with a competitive overall package but more importantly you will be joining a group who have your future interests and aspirations at heart.
