A very exciting opportunity has become available for an Optical Assistant on a full-time, permanent basis. This role is with a very well established, family-run optical independent chain for one of their practices in Gerrard’s Cross who have an opening.

This practice is situated in a busy high street and has a large and loyal customer base. They have a very friendly and welcoming team in place, who all work for each other to deliver the highest levels of care possible and they have a very good local reputation for excellence in customer care.

Responsibilities of the Optical Assistant

The role will entail dispensing spectacles to all levels, conducting pre-screen tests and contact lens teaches. You will also be required to carry out frame styling and give patients advice on options. Reception duties and general admin will also be a part of the role and helping with the smooth running of the practice.

Requirements of the Optical Assistant

At least 1 year of experience as an Optical Assistant.
Must be a people person and have a friendly approach with a strong personal work ethic
The ability to dispense to all levels, pre-screen and ideally contact lens teach.
It is preferable that you have a full driving license and have access to a car as you may be required to travel to one of their other local practices to cover sickness and holidays.
A customer focused approach to your work and the ability to build a strong rapport with customers and colleagues alike.

Compensation for the Optical Assistant

For your efforts a competitive salary of up to £24,000 is on offer along with additional benefits and progression opportunities on to the DO course,

You will also have the opportunity to receive some further training and join a professional team in a fun and relaxed environment.
Working hours are 9-5:30 Monday – Saturday with a day off in the week – no Sundays or bank holiday
