This well-established group of opticians are currently on the lookout for a new Optical Practice Manager to manage one of their practices in the Staines area. The practice has a nice, independent feel, focus on their patients and customer service and offer a wide range of products.
You will be managing a small team that are a long serving team and been in the practice for a number of years. They have an excellent reputation, with a loyal patient base and awaiting an established Optical Practice Manager to lead the team and grow the practice.

09:00- 17:30 with 30-mins lunch
Salary from £35,000 to £40,000

Responsibilities of the Optical Practice Manager

Your role will be to help lead the team from the front. You will occasionally be involved in all optical duties such as dispensing but you will primarily be managing staff, analysing KPI’s, P&L, troubleshooting, offering advice, rota management and dealing with all of the day to day duties. You will be on the shop floor making sales and coaching your team whilst ensuring customer service standards are maintained.

What is important, is your ability manage people and experience as a manger to encourage and inspire the team. You will also have to build rapport and converse with patients, while getting involved in the day to day tasks of the store whether that be dispensing, stock taking, answering calls or dealing with problems.

Requirements of the Optical Practice Manager

You must be registered as a Qualified Dispensing Optician with the General Optical Council and you will ideally be an experienced Deputy Practice Manager or Practice Manager looking to take the next exciting step in your career.
You will have excellent communication and listening skills with an ability to be understood both verbally and non-verbally and the ability to build relationships with eye care and hearing clients.
You will also have the ability to diagnose and solve problems, plan, prioritise workloads and delegate accordingly and have excellent accuracy and attention to detail.
Must be able to dispense to all levels and have a strong optical knowledge
You will be involved in stock purchasing, recruitment and developing the business by looking to increase footfall and keepings clinics booked up.
Must be a team player.
A friendly and personable demeanour and strong personal work ethic.
A customer focused approach to your work and the ability to build a strong rapport with customers and colleagues alike.

Compensation for the Optical Practice Manager

For your efforts a competitive salary of up to £40,000 is on offer as well as very appealing company benefits.
Store hours:
Mon – Sat – 09:00-17:30 with 30-mins lunch
