Are you an experienced Optical Assistant who is looking to join a family run, clinically focused and fully equipped optical practice?

My client is a family-run optical practice providing a high level of eye care and optical services to patients across Birmingham. This fully equipped practice is home to an OCT Maestro 2, Fields Screener, and the Vision-R 800 Essilor Phoropter which is a new phoropter that reaches the final refraction quicker than traditional methods, and offers a refraction value delivered to 0.01D as a pose to the standard 0.25. This piece of equiptment is rare to find within practices within the West Midlands area.
They can offer an Optical Assistant a full time position working with an established team, working 9-5:30 across 5 days out of 6 wih an hour lunch where the practice is closed for the lunch break. You will be fully trained up on the customer journey as within this practice they do very specialist tailored dipsensing and are one of the biggest Essilor clients within the Birmingham area.
Optical Assistant Position
I have just taken on a vacancy for an experienced Senior Optical Assistant for a high-end independent practice in a prime location with good footfall and a discerning client base.
This practice is modern with some of the best technology on the market and a product range to meet the precise requirements of the clientele.
They have a huge choice of frames from some of the most popular brand names as well as some less well-known styles.
Responsibilities of the Optical Assistant
This a front-of-house retail sales position. You will be meeting and greeting customers coming into the store, booking appointments, helping customers to choose the best frame for their needs, dispensing spectacles, and ultimately making sales.
You will be on hand to help with initial clinical tests and offer advice to customers on how to care for and use their contact lenses.
Additional admin reception and merchandising will also be a part of the role.
Requirements of the Optical Assistant
The right candidate for this position will have full dispensing knowledge as well as having excellent customer service.
You will be a hardworking and dynamic individual who is able to make sales while always delivering the highest levels of customer care.
You will have clear personal career goals that this company can help you to achieve and you will be willing to work for them.

*You must be available to work Saturday.
Compensation for the Optical Assistant
On offer is a starting salary of £18,000 – £20,000 basic DOE + additional training and development opportunities.
