As an Optical Assistant, you will play a vital role in our practice by assisting with eye examinations, fittings, and adjustments of eyewear. About the Role
We’re looking for a full-time or part-time Optical Assistant to join us in delivering outstanding patient care.
You’ll be an integral part of our team here and will help us drive our service offering forward, always looking for opportunities to improve and innovate.
Providing a friendly, informative, and empathetic service is a must.
Your role is a busy and varied role. Although experience in optics is helpful it is not essential. Full training will be given to the candidate with the right attitude and people skills.
The role is front of house and includes, helping patient’s on the phone, via email and face to face. Booking appointments, ordering and discussing contact lenses as well as teaching patients how to apply and remove them. Managing patients and the diary on a day-to-day basis aswell as a variety of administration tasks. Nearly everything we do is done on Optix, our computer system.

Our frame and sunglass ranges include Tom Davies, Lindberg, Tom Ford, Rayban, Oakley & Maui Jim. We dispense a wide variety of spectacle lenses including multifocals, personalised lenses, enhanced readers, occupationals and myopia management spectacles. We work in partnership with all the contact lens suppliers. Our PMS system is Optix.
We are a team of 15-20 in Reading & Brighton, 8 in Winchester and 5 in Weybridge.
The full-time role requires you to work 4 days in the week and every Saturday.
