Dispensing Optician

Eyeland Opticians is growing, and we're looking for a Qualified Dispensing Optician to join our team.

We run 2 very busy practices, both centrally located on the sunny island of Malta. We pride ourselves on the high level of customer service and premium eyewear products that we offer – from Zeiss and Essilor optical lenses to high end eyewear.

Our clinics offer the full spectrum of eye care practitioners, from Optometrists to Orthoptists and Consultant Ophthalmologists.

What we’re looking for:

 Alongside being a qualified and experienced Dispensing Optician, the right person for this position will be confident, possess a strong worth ethic and a willingness to succeed. You’ll be passionate and driven about your job. We are looking for someone who sees a long term future with Eyeland Opticians and with the potential of wanting to grow the chain further and maximise its potential. In summary, we’re looking for a high calibre and ambitious Dispensing Optician who is looking to drive this retail chain forward.

The Role:  Working at our 2 stores and potential future openings.

Training and mentoring our team of full and part time optical assistants.

Work together with our shop floor managers to elevate the customer experience and ensure an exceptional service.

Become the key technical contact person for all our shop floor managers.

Dispense on the shop floor and deal and resolve complex patient queries .

Give advice to patients on lens types, frames and styling and take frame and facial measurements to ensure correct fit and positioning. 

Work together with the Eyeland directors to drive the business forward.

 Develop a close relationship with our practitioners and help them in prescribing the most beneficial optical and contact lenses according to the patient’s needs.

 Communicate efficiently with all our suppliers and our optical laboratory to ensure that all orders are delivered on time and to specification.
