An independent optician in the Bristol area are looking for someone who loves helping people to see clearly and look amazing in their new spectacles.

This independent opticians are an award-winning, nationally renowned independent opticians based in the Bristol area.

Responsibilities of the Optical Practice Manager

As the Optical Practice Manager, you will be the driving force of the business, leading by example and inspiring staff. You will help to lead a busy team of twelve people daily, whilst managing the day-to-day business. You will be given the autonomy to implement your own changes, chose your own brands etc! They are looking for someone to treat this practice as your own and will be given the freedom to make changes etc as you see fit.

You will be a highly skilled professional – supplying the most appropriate spectacles, taking into account each customer’s visual and lifestyle requirements; advising on lenses for all walks of life and individual requirements.
You will be dispensing to a range of patients from children to the elderly and will have a wide range of products, frames and lenses available at a patient’s request.
You will be working within an experienced and close-knit team and will be supported by other support staff and Dispensing Opticians in a relaxed environment, where you can take time to focus on providing quality customer service and eye care to all patients.

Requirements of the Optical Practice Manager

GOC registered ideally but not essential!
Strong customer service ethos
Strong sales skills!
Team player
Good communication skills
Proactive with great organisational skills
Be knowledgeable about lenses and frames, their background, features and benefits.
Be able to recommend suitable products to customers and use the customer’s language to explain the features and benefits
Check and fit spectacles to a high standard.
Use your knowledge to maintain a high level of customer service in clinical dispensing.
Monitor KPIs and set targets
Maintain a friendly, warm and welcoming atmosphere in practice.
Pro-actively remain up-to-date with your training and assignments.
Work with the team to grow and develop the practices.
This role may be subject to DBS clearance.

Compensation for the Optical Practice Manager

Salary: Up to £35,000 or more (depending upon your ability) plus bonus
Hours: 5 days a week, 8.45am to 5.30pm (no Sundays, evenings or Bank Holidays)
