Optical Assistant

This is one of the longest established independent groups in the country with over 90 years servicing their local communities.
Over the years, things have changed with new technology and the way the customer journey is managed.
They have made significant investment in the latest technology and all their practices are custom fitted.

They now require an optical dispenser to join their team in a small, one test room practice on the Luton area.

Optical Assistant

This is a full-time opportunity for an Optical Assistant to join a friendly vibrant team. Located on a quiet part of the city with a good level of footfall, with the practice having plenty of scope to increase testing days from four to six.

This practice is ticking along nicely but could do more and as a result are looking to expand. They are looking for an experienced Optical Assistant that has a range of knowledge and can competently dispense who is customer focussed and very much a people person. The practice is currently single testing 4 days a week, with a part time Optometrist.

Responsibilities of the Optical Assistant

You will ideally have experience of working in an independent and full knowledge of all areas of working in a practice.
You will be a team player first and a dispenser second, as the role requires you to be flexible in all areas of working in an opticians, supporting your colleagues and offering excellent customer service.

Requirements of the Optical Assistant

Optical experience is essential for this role. You will need to have a good knowledge of optics, with the ability to dispense glasses to all levels.
Have a good understanding of KPIs, managing goals and targets.
Being proactive and using your initiative in order to complete set tasks.

Compensation for the Optical Assistant

My client is offering a competitive salary of up to £24,000. You will work 5 days in 6, (Not every Saturday), with no bank holidays or Sunday working).
