I am currently working with a well-established, clinical and high-end independent optician who focus on making sure each of their patients has the best possible vision and the best possible eye health, throughout their lives.
They are now looking for an Optometrist to join their close-knit team. This practice is well known for its reputation and clinical awareness as a lot of its business comes from hospitals. They are located in a quaint town outside the Reading area.

You will be joining a very high-end, modern practice with all the latest equipment. They run 2 test rooms and have a team of around 7 strong, highly experienced, staff members who work well together and support each other daily. They have a stylish range of frames and products with well-known brands that cater to both mid and high-end.

My client is looking to offer a competitive package as well the opportunity to work in a relaxed but high-end and modern independent with no sales pressure or targets. They have all the latest equipment inclusive of Optomap, OCT, phoropter in both rooms and also have AVA equipment to do refraction to 1/100th of a dioptre. Focimeter, autorefractor, etc. This a full-time role which would include Saturdays but no Sundays or Bank Holidays.

Responsibilities of the Optometrist

” You will be responsible for dealing with each and every patient to the best of your ability
” Complete full eye test including Optomap and OCT within 40-60 min appointments.
” You will be able to provide excellent customer service and speak with your patients in a friendly, confident, yet professional manner.
” Be a key part of the team and work with the company and its owners.
” As this is an independent company that is renowned for going the extra mile you will be open to coming onto the shop floor occasionally to answer questions and get involved with the patient journey as well.

Requirements of the Optometrist

” You must be GOC registered (open to experience)
” Accreditations like CUES/PEARS are required
” Be able to provide excellent customer service
” Have a positive, warm attitude and empathy towards patients, along with enthusiasm and a passion for optics

Compensation for the Optometrist

For your efforts, there is a very rewarding and competitive salary package on offer.
” Competitive basic salary (£58-65k) dependant on experience
” Top spec equipment as mentioned above and a fantastic refurbished practice to work in
” Work in a low-pressure environment with a brilliant back up team
