Qualified Dispensing Optician

An opportunity has become available in the Chippenham area for a Dispensing Optician on a 4 or 5 days basis with an independent that has been established for over 50 years. You will be the practices resident Dispensing Optician and be managing your own diary as they are by appointment only.
You will have the opportunity to develop clinically, as the team are always looking to develop, whether it is using the latest equipment or focussing on the latest developments in eye care such as dry eye, colorimetry or myopia control.

o Up to £32,000
o Free parking
o 8:30 to 5:30 in the week and working 1 Saturday per month, 8:30 to 12:30
o Joining a well-established, forward-thinking, busy, independent practice that offer 45-minute appointments

Responsibilities of the Qualified Dispensing Optician

You will be a highly skilled professional – supplying the most appropriate spectacles to each customer, taking into account visual and lifestyle requirements
You will play an important role in advising and dispensing to customers who are partially sighted as well as to children.
Part of your day will be helping your colleagues – ensuring that they are doing the best they can for every patient, mentoring and developing their skills and generally ensuring the smooth running of the practice.

Requirements of the Qualified Dispensing Optician

You must be GOC registered and up to date with CET points (open to experience)
Ideally, you will have worked within an independent opticians and have a wide product knowledge on frames and lenses
Be keen to develop clinically and advance your optical knowledge
Be able to provide excellent customer service
Have a positive attitude and warming personality along with a passion for optics
Be able to work individually and as part of a team
A customer-focused approach to your work and the ability to build a strong rapport with customers and colleagues alike.

Compensation for the Qualified Dispensing Optician

o A competitive salary of up to £32,000 basic.
o Free parking
o Monday to Friday (8:30 to 5:30) with 1 Saturday per month 8:30 to 12:30)
