*Salary offered is determined by experience and personal motivation to learn and grow.
*This is a seven-day business and as such all successful applicants will work on a rota basis with one weekend day per week worked.

Optical Assistant Position

An opportunity has just become available for a customer-driven optical assistant in a three-test room practice with a ten-strong team.

*There is a team of ten, but looking to grow due to business levels.

They have all the latest technology to hand and the incumbent owners have a reputation for excellence and team development.
Both Practices are based in the Watford area, but you will be based in one of the practices, (It is customary for some flexibility to work in the other to cover sick or holidays).

The practice is situated in busy locations and has strong footfall with a loyal customer base made up of a good mix of private and NHS patients. They have a very friendly and patient-focused team in place, who all work for each other to deliver the highest levels of care possible and they have a very good local reputation for excellence in customer care.
The owners have a ‘team comes first’ mentality and a forward-thinking ethos to help develop and grow their employees.

Responsibilities of the Optical Assistant

The role will entail dispensing spectacles to all levels, conducting pre-screen tests and contact lens teaches. You will also be required to carry out frame styling and give patients advice on options. Reception duties and general admin will also be a part of the role and help with the smooth running of the practice.

Requirements of the Optical Assistant

Do you have the desire to be successful in a retail environment or more so experience in opticians then give us a call to discuss the role and company in more detail?

You will naturally have a friendly and personable demeanour and strong personal work ethic. A customer-focused approach to your work and the ability to build a strong rapport with customers and colleagues alike. The director of this practice likes ambitious people and offers progression opportunities leading to the Dispensing Optician qualification as an example.

Compensation for the Optical Assistant

My client is offering a competitive salary from 22k basic and a bonus scheme earnings of up to 1-2k, although uncapped, with additional benefits. For the more experienced of you up to 25k.
You will also receive further training and join a professional team in a fun and relaxed environment.
