Optical Assistant Position

A very exciting opportunity has become available for a customer focused optical assistant who is looking for a full time career move with well-established optical group. You will be based at one practice however could be asked to cover the other practice for holiday or sickness, through this you will gain valuable insight into different working environments and personalities and dealing with different types of clientele.

Responsibilities of the Optical Assistant

The role will entail dispensing spectacles to all levels, conducting pre-screen tests and contact lens teaches. You will also be required to carry out frame styling and give patients advice on options. Reception duties and general admin will also be a part of the role and helping with the smooth running of the practice.
Working across the practices, no two days are the same which gives you the variety of working environments and team dynamics.
*A driving license and car is essential in order to work in both practices.

Requirements of the Optical Assistant

My client is looking for applicants with at least 1 years’ experience as an optical assistant ideally within a busy practice. The ability to dispense to all levels is essential with a friendly and personable demeanour and strong personal work ethic. A customer focused approach to your work and the ability to build a strong rapport with customers and colleagues alike.
*please be aware that this is initially a maternity cover role with possibility of permanent after completion.

Compensation for the Optical Assistant

For your efforts a competitive salary of up to £22,500 basic with a good overall package and prospects for the future is on offer along with additional benefits.
