Location: Welwyn Garden City

Hours: Full Time- 5 days a week

Salary: Up to 20,000 DOE

Bonus may be paid at the discretion of directors based on performance

Experience level: No previous audiology training is needed

Audiology clinical support role

Specsavers in Welwyn Garden City are excited to announce that as of 1st July 2022 we will be expanding our Audiology department. We are passionate about delivering professional, high quality Audiology services to our customers, and we are looking for the right person to provide administrative and clinical support to our team.

In this role, your responsibilities will include:

Clinical Support

You will work closely with our talented clinicians to make sure every customer has a fantastic journey through our store. This will include carrying out post-appointment sessions with our customers, teaching them how to handle, and look after their new hearing aids.

Collaborate with the team

We will help you to become a specialist in Audiology, and you will need to use this knowledge and skill to support our team. You will play a key part in developing your colleagues proficiency in Audiology related activities.

Carry out hearing screenings

As part of your training, you will learn to carry out a preliminary hearing screening for customers. You will also become qualified to perform Otoscopy (looking in a patients ears) to check for wax.

Clinic management

You will oversee the efficient management of our Audiology diaries. This role will include pre-appointment triaging.

Handling hearing aids

You will receive and assemble hearing aid devices, preparing them to be fitted by our clinicians. You will also be responsible for processing hearing aid repairs.

What training will be provided?

Initially, you will be enrolled on the Audiology clinical support course. This course can be completed on the job, over 8-12 weeks; it will give you the foundation of knowledge and practical skill required to fulfil your new role. You will be working alongside two experienced qualified hearing aid Audiologists, who are both very approachable and supportive.

What type of candidate are we looking for?

The ideal candidate will:

- Have strong organisational skill

- Be highly confident in customer facing tasks

- Have a level of IT proficiency that is reasonable given the requirements of the role

- Be able to learn and retain technical and clinical information

- Be able to collaborate with and pass knowledge on to colleagues

Hours and Remuneration

- Full time (5 days per week)

- 8-hour shifts

- Up to 20,000 per year
