Optometrist Position

This is a permanent, five-day position working for two franchises of one of the UK’s largest and most successful optical groups. This is a primary optometrist position working within a brand new practice in a very modern test room. You will be well supported by an experienced practice director and practice manager.

Responsibilities of the Optometrist

You will be working as the sole optometrist within the practice. You will conduct sight tests in 25-minute slots and you will also undertake contact lens fitting and aftercare. As the primary optometrist within this practice, you will work closely with the management team to help to deliver training to the non-qualified staff and ensure that clinical best practice is always encouraged. You will also be on hand to offer expert advice to patients not only by recommendations during a sight test but also by coming onto the shop floor to help as required.
The split will be three in one and two in the other and the working opening hours are 9 to 6 pm and 9 to 5.30 pm, must be able to work Saturdays on a regular basis.

Requirements for the Optometrist

To apply for this position you must be a fully qualified optometrist who is registered with the GOC and up to date with all CET requirements.
You will be a professional, friendly person who is able to build rapport with patients and colleagues alike. You will be clinically minded but also understand the commercial aspect of the position.

Compensation of the Optometrist

On offer is a competitive salary of £45,000 – £55,000 + Store bonus you will also receive 33 days holiday. You will work five days per week Mon-Sat NO SUNDAYS with a 1-hour unpaid lunch break.
