Job Scope
As a Mobile Optometrist, you will be conducting sight tests and contact lens fitting in a variety of stores across within your region.
As an Optometrist you will work as part of a team delivering total satisfaction to our customers through conducting thorough eye examinations, contact lens assessments and aftercare. You’ll offer our customers recommendations to the highest professional and ethical standards. You will use your knowledge to effectively identify customer needs and recommend eyewear and eye care solutions accordingly. In addition you will act as an ambassador for David Clulow ensuring every customer is welcomed into the store and to ensure their expectations are exceeded throughout the customer experience.
Major Duties & Responsibilities
Deliver excellent customer service and demonstrate a high degree of professionalism
Coach assistants to consistently deliver effective selling behaviours resulting in high customer engagement
Communicate with patients to get detailed case histories
Examine eyes of patients of all ages in accordance with the guidelines laid out by the College of Optometrists and the General Optical Council
Use specialist equipment for diagnosis and testing
Issue prescriptions for spectacles or contact lenses
fit and check prescribed lenses in order to correct vision defects
Offer advice and reassurance about vision-related matters
Offer help and advice for patients choosing frames and lenses
Write referral communications to doctors as required in line with legal guidelines
Liaise with other medical practitioners and sometimes share the care of patients with chronic ophthalmic conditions
Meet sales targets with regard to selling spectacles & contact lenses
Manage staff, including dispensing opticians and store staff as required
Supervise and train store staff
Open and close the store according to established guidelines
Perform core administrative functions
Network effectively with internal and external stakeholders

Education & Experience
CET statutory requirement completed
You must be a qualified Optometrist with a degree in Optometry and be a member of the General Optical Council
Be able to demonstrate industry knowledge and experience of providing excellent care and service
Previous experience in retail or customer service
The ideal candidate will be a clinically minded individual with good time management skills and excellent attention to detail. This role would suit a strong team player with a proven track record who is able to confidently offer advice to their peers and share your clinical expertise with the teams you work with. This full time position is covering all stores nationwide so the ideal candidate must be able to travel and work a mixture of weekdays and weekends.
