Here is a brilliant opportunity for an experienced Optical Assistant to work with an independent optician based in the Bournemouth area. This independent chain has a great reputation in the local area and focus on offering the best care and service to all of their patients.

My client is now looking for an Optical Assistant to work between two practices in the Bournemouth area. This would be to help the current team in doing what they do best – offering quality care and helping their patients.
This independent are devoted to customer care and cater for people who prefer to have more time spent with them to properly understand their eyesight needs in-depth.

Responsibilities of the Optical Assistant

This role will be split between two parts spending around 50% of the time helping with reception work and the admin within the practice, and the remainder backing up the Qualified Dispensing Optician helping with dispensing, fittings, frame adjustments and repairs, frame selection and styling advice.
You will ideally have full dispensing knowledge and be able to dispense to all levels.

Requirements of the Optical Assistant

The ideal candidate, therefore will be a person with a good grasp of attention to detail, able to complete admin/PC work carefully and accurately, and also be a people person who can interact well with the customers, whilst out on the shop floor.
Ideally 12 months minimum experience, within an optician where will you have gathered a good optical knowledge and be comfortable on the shopfloor, dispensing and dealing with patient’s needs.

Compensation for the Optical Assistant

For your efforts, a competitive salary package of £20,000 dependent on your experience is on offer, along with continual training and development. You will also have the opportunity to work with a small and friendly team in a relaxed environment where you will be much more than a number, but a key part of the team.
Holidays would be 28 days to include bank holidays, no Sundays or bank holidays.
The working hours are 9:00-17:30 but closes early on Saturdays, no Sundays or Bank holidays.
