This is a very traditional family-owned and run practice with a small team of five but nevertheless equipped with OCT. They are updating their system to Optex in the near future and looking for someone who wants to be a part of moving forward.
They have the enviable pride of seeing three different generations of patients from the same families, and even patients that have moved abroad come back to see them for their eye care.

Optical Assistant Position

They provide a relaxing environment with a friendly family feel to help make the important decision of how to look and feel good in a choice of eyewear. They have a unique range of frames as well as using the latest lenses and having a strong hearing clinic running daily.

This practice will be a culture shock to those used to working in big teams in a fast-paced practice as everything is in a slower, more relaxed fashion.

Responsibilities and Requirements of the Optical Assistant

You will be first and foremost dispensing spectacles to all levels, helping with frames selection as well as completing contact lens teaches. There is no pre-screening to be done as the optometrist does his own. They are wanting someone who can do some social media work as well as taking responsibility for the day-to-day paperwork alongside other senior duties.

Taking control of all bookings and front-of-house admin would come as second nature.
This is a unique role in itself as you will be a senior optical assistant with management responsibilities.
This would be an ideal role for someone who is not hung up on titles but happy to receive the reward for doing the job right!

*All applicants must have a minimum of 5 years experience and would possibly consider a dispensing optician.

Compensation for the Optical Assistant
