Senior Industry Engagement Manager

A fantastic role for someone with a real passion and sound knowledge and understanding of the optical and audiology industry. The Senior Industry Engagement Manager will report into the Director of PR and be remote based within the UK. We are looking for someone who has a wealth of industry experience and connections across the optical and audiology sector to help us drive forward our PR Industry communications.

 

Main Purpose of the Team

To enhance and protect the brand reputation of Specsavers in the UK, Ireland and Spain through external communications and industry and consumer public relations, helping to drive brand awareness, engagement and customer loyalty, to drive footfall and increase sales in all areas of our business, to support employee recruitment and retention and to position Specsavers as an industry leader.

 

Main Purpose of the Role

Responsible for identifying and developing opportunities to grow and strategically enhance Specsavers’ clinical reputation within the optical and audiology industry sectors. Key to this will be developing, delivering and managing impactful communication and engagement plans targeting key external stakeholders. Working with the Clinical Services Director, the post holder will refine and develop Specsavers’ approach to building and ensuring the effective management of strategic relationships with industry partners.

 

Key Skills, Ability or Experience

 

  • Experience developing, managing and delivering highly impactful plans to engage external stakeholders in support of business agendas
  • Significant experience in working with government or healthcare bodies
  • Knowledge of PR and trade/B2B PR
  • Negotiation skills and a willingness to work and collaborate with others while maintaining a strategic focus
  • Commercial acumen, balanced by a talent for creative thinking and problem solving
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to build and maintain effective business networks internally and externally
  • Sound understanding of the optical/healthcare clinical sector
  • Track record of influencing key stakeholders and championing change
  • Ability to develop and foster a sense of community among members of matrixed accountability groups
  • Advanced business, journalistic and creative writing capabilities
  • Experience of creating and managing department budget and demonstrate commercial ability to identify and implement areas for cost saving
