Clinical services
As well as routine sight tests and contact lens appointments the practice is part of the WECS (Welsh Eye Care Service) providing acute eyecare, referral refinement services and post op care.  They also are part of a shared care glaucoma service that works closely with the HES locally to care for patients in the community. The practice also provides an Independent Prescribing Optometry Service where patients are referred by other opticians and NHS primary care providers for assessment and treatment by an Independent Prescribing Optometrist instead of attending Eye Casualty. We are ideally seeking and optometrist who has an interest in expanding their clinical knowledge so they can become part of the team that provides these services.

Other development
Our Optometrists are an integral part of our store team, so we’re keen to get you up to speed outside the test room too.  We can provide Institute of Leadership and Management courses, and the Specsavers Partnership scheme (Pathway) as part of a tailored personal development plan.

Platinum Employer
Our store is an accredited Platinum Employer – this means you can expect an exceptional employee experience every single day you work here. The Platinum Employer Scheme is part of the Specsavers drive to become a famous place to work. Stores with this accreditation have been verified on five key employer standards: Recruitment, Performance Management and Reward, Talent Management, Learning and Development and Employee Engagement.
