Are you looking for a role working with an established and modern busy optician in the Basingstoke area? This role is for someone with a minimum of two years experience as an optical assistant in a similar environment who can dispense to all levels on a full-time permanent basis.

Optical Assistant Position

They provide a professional and comprehensive service with friendly qualified staff and non-qualified dispensing team to help make the important decision of how to look and feel good in a choice of eyewear. They offer a strong range of optical and sunglass frames are sourced from around the world and are updated regularly. Their children’s range is especially unique and different from the usual offerings.
This very well-appointed, open, and airy modern practice is situated in an excellent location with a strong client base.

Responsibilities of the Optical Assistant

You will be dispensing spectacles to all levels, helping with frames selection as well as completing contact lens teaches. On top of the sales and shop floor duties, you will be required to help with reception and admin duties as this is a small team where everyone plays an integral part in the overall success of the business.

Requirements of the Optical Assistant

To apply for this position you need to have at least 12 months of optical experience in practice and have the ability to dispense spectacles to all levels. You will be a strong communicator who is able to make sales and ensure return business.
Opening hours are 09:00 to 19:30 and Sundays 10:30 to 17:00 and you will work on a rota basis with two shifts of 09:00 – 18:00 or 10:30 – 19.30 and one weekend day per week.
