The Role

As a Senior Test Manager at Specsavers, you will be accountable for and own all test and assurance activities on a number projects or programmes within the IT Delivery function. Managing multiple test teams, often over a variety of locations (onshore and offshore) to ensure effective execution of the quality processes and visibility to all senior stakeholders through delivery.

You will drive improvements, education, and adoption of key processes through delivery. Providing key inputs to enhancing QA and Testing processes, helping to drive efficiencies from within.

Key Responsibilities

Delivery

• Accountable for the delivery of testing activities within one or more projects
• Acting as a key point of escalation for stakeholders at all levels of the organisation
• Own the creation of approach and scope to obtain stakeholder approval
• Manage supplier engagement for the required resources
• Coordinate tools, data, environment, and access dependencies of testing
• Manage test teams through test preparation and test execution phases
• Support defect triage and resolution processes
• Provide reporting and updates to delivery team and stakeholders and Portfolio Test Manager

Managerial

• Support the development of testing central capabilities and standards
• Support ongoing QA process improvement initiatives
• Provide testing best practice guidance and mentoring to test team and project members
• Line management of test team members including:
  • Performance management through objective setting and ongoing review
  • Devising and agreeing a structured L&D program
  • Participating in pay and bonus decisions

To be successful

You will be an experienced Test Manager with proven experience working with Product teams in both Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies. You will also have experience working with and leading multiple resource models including domestic, offshore, onshore and multi-country teams.

It would be highly desirable if you have experience with test management tools, ideally JIRA & qTest along with experience in the delivery of retail applications
