Optical Assistant

A very exciting opportunity has become available for an Optical Assistant on a full time, permanent basis with a high-end independent chain based in Dorset.
I am recruiting currently for a very well established optical company within a practice halfway between Yeovil and Salisbury who have an opening.

This independent high street opticians, who have a fantastic reputation for their high-quality service, are looking to add to their team by recruiting an Optical Assistant to join one of their practices on a full time, permanent basis.

An enthusiastic and committed individual is required to join this practice within the group. Located in an excellent location, my client’s attractive practices are equipped to the highest standard and boasts a good support team.

Responsibilities of the Optical Assistant

The ideal candidate will have had experience as an Optical Assistant within an independent and must be able to dispense. It is also important to have a strong ability to build rapport and converse with patients, while getting involved in the day to day tasks of the store whether that be dispensing, stock taking, answering calls or dealing with problems.
Looking to do (on average) 8 dispenses per day but to provide excellent service whilst doing so, you will be working with all the latest equipment in a relaxed calm environment surrounded by a close-knit friendly team.

Requirements of the Optical Assistant

At least 1 year of experience as an Optical Assistant ideally within a busy practice. The ability to dispense to all levels. A friendly and personable demeanour and strong personal work ethic. A customer-focused approach to your work and the ability to build a strong rapport with customers and colleagues alike.

Compensation for the Optical Assistant

For your efforts, a competitive salary of up to £20,000 is on offer as well as 5 weeks’ holiday (plus bank holidays), life insurance and there is free on-street parking near the practice. You will also have the opportunity to receive some further training and join a professional team in a fun and relaxed environment.

Working 9:00-5:30 Monday to Saturday – 37.5 hours to include Saturdays, no Sundays or Bank holidays
