Qualified Dispensing Optician
My client is looking for a unique and talented individual to join their team in a full-time Dispensing Optician role.
They are a well-established practice, located in the heart of the capital, and well known for their comprehensive eye examinations and a wide variety of luxury and exclusive eyewear brands.
The right candidate will be confident and efficient in their role, providing patients with the best quality of care throughout their appointment and supporting the team in other roles and responsibilities within the practice.
A knowledge of pre-screening equipment and Optix PMS is preferred but not essential as training will be provided.
You will advise patients on our wide range of designer frames and lenses, including style, weight, and color. You will also advise on how they should wear and care for their spectacles,
You will often be the first point of contact for patients, who can range from children to the elderly.
40 hours per week, Monday – Saturday, 9 am-6 pm / Sunday, Closed. You will have a day off in the week.
Responsibilities of the Qualified Dispensing Optician
As a Qualified Dispensing Optician, you will need to:
o Interpret optical prescriptions written by optometrists or ophthalmologists.
o Give advice to patients on lens type, frames, and styling.
o Give advice on Contact lenses, including their care and use
o Take the frame and facial measurements to ensure correct frame fit and positioning
o Advise the partially sighted patients on the use of low vision aids
o Advise patients when adjustments or repairs to spectacles.
o Select, manage and order a range of optical products.
o Order lenses from prescription laboratories.
o Check lenses on delivery to ensure that they meet the required specifications.
o Arrange and maintain displays.
o Liaise with sales representatives from product suppliers.
o Supervise and train team members.
Most work is in one location, but you may need to visit one of the other practices in the local area.
You will be a smart dresser and maintain a high level of courtesy and professionalism with customers.
Compensation for the Qualified Dispensing Optician
For this role, my client is offering a competitive salary of up to £40,000, with a strong bonus structure. You will be working 5 days in 6 days. You will be entitled to 28 days holiday (Inc bank holidays) + store discounts and other benefits.
