This is a brand new role with an award-winning, clinical, family-run independent in a very affluent town in the Surrey area who are now looking for a Qualified Dispensing Optician to be their Manager.
Salary – up to £40,000
Bonus – Approx 5% of salary

My client is looking for a Dispensing Optician with a strong, clinical knowledge. The ideal candidate will be a people person, yet professional and have come from an independent background.
You will be joining a long-standing team who have all been in this practice for a minimum of 10 years and are looking for someone who is also looking for a long term role where they can develop their career and be part of the team that has built a great reputation, offers an excellent service and continue to win more awards.
As the manager, you will have full autonomy of the store and be left to your own devices while liaising with the director once a week. Because of this, you will need to be confident on managing a team, running a practice, dispensing to a high-end clientele and be comfortable to develop the practice bringing new, dynamic ideas and implementing them to continue growing.
Responsibilities of the Optical Practice Manager
Your efforts will help to ensure that the store runs successfully while providing customers with exceptional service.
Much of your work will involve inspiring staff to perform at their best and meet the highest standards.
Your efforts will help to drive the overall store sales as well as customer loyalty.
You will be able to effectively manage your time from being on the shop floor dispensing and aiding patients, managing the practice, looking after the team.
Requirements of the Optical Practice Manager
It is essential that you have previous Optical Managerial experience and ideally have worked within another high-end independent.
You’ll be an expert team leader that ensures your team feel enthused and free to make suggestions. Essentially you will have strong leadership skills but equally approachable and supportive. On top of this, you’ll need strong commercial acumen with a clear understanding of what makes the business tick and use this to your advantage.
Compensation for the Optical Practice Manager
My client can guarantee a competitive salary of up to £40,000 (depending on experience), a team bonus along with other benefits.
A new challenge to develop a practice and a great working environment with a friendly and experienced team.
Working hours are 9:00-5:30 in the week and 9:00-5:00 on Saturdays, no Sundays or Bank Holidays.
