We are looking for an Optometrist to join our store in Cowley!

Cowley is a thriving, vibrant and multicultural residential area, located around 15 minutes from the centre of Oxford.

The team at our Cowley store are proud of their community-focused attitude, taking the time to get to know each and every one of their customers. Their diverse patient demographic will give you excellent exposure to a range of pathology and plenty of opportunities to develop your skillset, all whilst working as part of a longstanding and highly experienced team.

Specsavers Cowley has 5 test rooms, each equipped with Nidek Phoropters, and Nidek OCT in store. Our directors are keen to support an Optometrist who is interested in doing Pathway, with the opportunity for partnership available in the future.

What’s on Offer?

  • A base salary of up to £60,000 dependent on experience
  • A base salary of up to £45,000 for the newly qualified
  • Full or part time
  • Holiday allowance of 33 days per year
  • Private health and dental cover
  • Death in service
  • GOC fee’s covered by the store
  • Low cost parking nearby (£2-3 per day)
  • Multi-site working available
  • Pension contribution
  • Outstanding clinical and professional development opportunities
  • Support with CET
  • Access to the latest clinical technology such as OCT
  • We welcome visa applications provided you are registered with the GOC

Our Optometrists are an integral part of our store management team, so we’re keen to get you up to speed outside the test room too. With ILM courses, Pre-Reg supervision and the Specsavers Partnership scheme (Pathway) all available to explore. Along with your clinical expertise – this will stand you in good stead if you choose to become a store director yourself one day.

What we’re looking for

You’ll need to be a qualified and GOC registered Optometrist with the drive, passion and the willingness to build upon our customer-focused culture. As part of our team, you’ll need to be able to provide a unique blend of customer care and professional excellence. You’ll need to demonstrate good attention to detail along with a passion for the community. Teamwork also forms a big part of our culture, so the ability to work well with others is essential.
