We are searching for a qualified Dispensing Optician to join our team within our Cobham practice. This is a full time position which will consist of 5 days a week, including weekends.

Leightons is a retail opticians and audiology business, founded in 1928. We are proudly independent, family-owned and family run and believe our people are the key to success and longevity. Leightons have grown to have 35 stores, all special and unique – 25 fully owned, 7 franchised, 2 co-owned and 1 business operating under its own name.

At Leightons Cobham we have invested in the latest technologies to provide all of our customers with the most in-depth eye examinations we can. Our Ultimate Eye Examination incorporates OCT and Optomap retinal imaging so we can capture a detailed view of the back of your eye, enabling us to see up to 80% of the retinal surface as well as a detailed 3D view.

Our new Myah equipment helps us thoroughly assess the front of the eye for dryness and contact lens work, and our Hoya VisuReal Mirror, a state-of-the-art tool, offers us ultimate accuracy when taking an array of measurements to assist in the dispensing of spectacles.

We now also have a state-of-the-art audiology room, allowing us to provide you with the most comprehensive hearing care services, including FREE full hearing assessments, hearing aid dispensing, ear wax removal and many other specialist services.

The role…

Our Dispensing Opticians are an integral part of each of our branches, ensuring that each store has adequate and correct stock whilst liaising with each customer on a one to one basis regarding their latest prescription. Core tasks of this role will include;

• Dispensing spectacles to current prescriptions
• Ensure that stock is maintained and accurate against purchase orders
• Assist the Branch Manager in tracking and monitoring branch performance
• Work with customers on a consultative basis regarding the available stock
• Adjust spectacles as per customer requirements
• Ensure all reminders are followed up, ensuring all parties are kept up to date
