I am currently working with a well-established, family-run independent optician who have been going for over 100 years and are now looking for an Optometrist to join their close-knit team. This practice is well known for its reputation and boast excellent customer service and are located in a quaint town in the Salisbury area.

You will be joining a very high end, modern practice with all the latest equipment. They run 2 test rooms and have a team of around 6 strong, highly experienced, staff members who work well together and support each other daily. They have a stylish range of frames and products with well-known brands that cater to both mid and high end.

My client is looking to offer a competitive package, sociable hours as well the opportunity to work in a relaxed, high-end and modern independent. This is a full-time role which would include Saturdays but no Sundays or Bank Holidays.

Responsibilities of the Optometrist

” You will be responsible for dealing with each and every patient to the best of your ability
” Complete full eye test including Optomap and OCT within 45 min appointments.
” You will be able to provide excellent customer service and speak with your patients in a friendly, confident, yet professional manner.
” Be a key part of the team and work with the company and its owners.
” As this is an independent company that is renowned for going the extra mile you will be open to coming onto the shop floor occasionally to answer questions and get involved with the patient journey as well.
” The company’s aim is to make all their patients feeling elated, delighted and inspired as they leave the practice, known in-house as the E.D.I effect.

Requirements of the Optometrist

” You must be GOC registered (open to experience)
” Preference for OrthoK, dry eye and myopia management.
” Be able to provide excellent customer service
” Have a positive and warm attitude along with a passion for optics
” Be driven and want to develop and expand your knowledge
” Must be a team player and able to work as a key part of the team – As the old cliché goes they win and lose as a team. This means they run a no blame culture and if anything goes wrong they work together as a unit to get the best outcome
” Working hours are 9:00 to 17:30 on weekdays and 8:30 to 15:00 on Saturdays (No Sundays or Bank holidays)

Compensation for the Optometrist

” Competitive basic salary (£45-65k) dependant on experience
” Top spec equipment and a fantastic refurbished practice to work in – Topcon OCT, Medmont Fields, Optos optomap and trial frames
” Work in a low-pressure environment with a brilliant back up team, supported by 2 experienced Dispensing Opticians, a Trainee DO, another Optometrist as well an Optical Assistant
” You will be given creative license to perform your role in a way that excites and interests you, as long as it’s in line the company values.
