Optical Assistant

My client is a successful chain of practices, who have been going from strength to strength for 85 years with various practices across the UK. They are constantly expanding through organic growth and acquisition. They are now recruiting for a quality-driven Optical Assistant due to business requirements.

As an Optical Assistant, you will spend your time on various aspects of meeting your customer’s needs precisely and competently. The company is renowned for promoting from within, so if you are keen to get your foot on the management ladder then this would be the ideal role for you.

Responsibilities of the Optical Assistant

You will work across 3-4 busy practices in the East London area, all with established teams in place. You will be helping patients with all their eye and hearing care needs, including contact lenses, designer frames, NHS eye care, and hearing health checks. You will be dispensing spectacles and making sales as well as undertaking pre-screening, contact lens teaches, and associated admin work.

Requirements for the Optical Assistant

Ideally, you will have previous experience working in optics and have a positive can-do attitude. The ability to dispense to all levels is a prerequisite with a friendly and personable demeanor and strong personal work ethic. A customer-focused approach to your work and the ability to build a strong rapport with customers and colleagues alike.
*You will have to be happy to work in a number of practices with all in easy commute of each other.

Compensation for the Optical Assistant

They are offering a competitive salary of up to £21,000 with a team bonus scheme in place, as well as the opportunity to further your career for the right candidate into management. You will have 28 days holiday.

You will work social hours; 9:00 – 5:30 pm and NO Sundays.
