An attractive opportunity has opened for a full time Optometrist in our Blyth Specsavers store.

Specsavers has been going from strength to strength, ever since the business started back in 1984. We strive for the highest clinical standards – and believe that the customer should be at the heart of everything we do. We also recognise that our people are critical to our past and future success – so we do everything we can to make sure they get the experience and career they’re looking for; from outstanding training and a personal development plan, to excellent benefits and unstinting support. The business is growing, and we want you to be part of our success story.

Blyth is a bustling port town with a rich history and a keen sense of its own identity. The town is still home to a port - which handles more than 1.5m tonnes of cargo each year - and its harbour is dominated by a set of stunning wind turbines which generate electricity for the National Grid. Attractions include a large leisure centre and pool, the Phoenix Theatre, and Blyth Spartans - one of England's most famous amateur football clubs - so you're never too far from the action.

What’s on offer

  • Up to £60,000 basic depending on experience
  • Professional fees paid
  • Dental and medical cover
  • Free parking available at the store
  • No late nights, no Sundays

At Specsavers we want to help you on your journey to success to in addition to the above we also offer the opportunity for clinical progression and our JVP pathway.

As a qualified Optometrist, registered with the GOC, you will be responsible for putting people at ease and welcoming customers with a naturally personable approach. You will talk customers through the eye examination process and talk through their options with them. What’s more, you must be passionate about what you do with an aptitude for organisation – which means you keep accurate records and always have up-to-date knowledge of the latest developments in your field.
