We’re equipped with 3 test rooms, cutting-edge technology such as OTC, up-to-date ophthalmic equipment and a team 16 members strong - including optical assistants trained in pre- and post-screening, so everything is in place to let you focus on what you do best.  

We use state of the art optical equipment, including full automated systems and fundus photography. Particularly as we full behind your individual clinical progression, along with ILM Management courses and Joint Venture Pathway if you can see yourself becoming a Specsavers director one day!

The Area

Alnwick, Northumberland is famous for its castle and is where the first two Harry Potter movies and Downton Abbey were filmed. Alnwick is similar to Downton Abbey with the Duke and Duchess of Northumberland still living in the Castle! It is 4 miles in from the Northumberland Coastal route where you can visit amazing places from Bamburgh, Seahouses, Warkworth, Craster and many more. To the west is the amazing Northumberland National Park, where you can climb the Cheviot hills or visit waterfalls. The location makes this town the perfect base to easily travel to some of the larger surrounding cities. Newcastle Upon Tyne is just a 40-minute drive away, so if the best night out ever is for you, then you’re in the perfect place! Even better, a train journey from the city centre takes only 20 minutes! Edinburgh is also only a 1.5 hour drive away so you’re all set to get out and enjoy this amazing place to live.

What we’re looking for
Alongside being a qualified and GOC registered Optometrist, we are searching for someone who shares our store’s ethos. Someone who wants to grow, develop and offer exceptional customer care along the way. We want a practitioner who prides themselves on their clinical judgment, who isn’t afraid of a hands-on approach and who is keen to get involved and build rapport with the rest of the team. In summary, we’re looking for a skilled resident Optometrist to join us, be part of the team and assist in driving our practice forward.
