An opportunity has become available within a very clinical independent practice in a busy South West London location for an experienced Optical Assistant.

Optical Assistant Position

This company has a very good local reputation and a long-standing professional customer base. They have a very patient-orientated and clinical ethos, offering additional clinical services. This company have had a recent increase in business and due to this are now looking to add to their front of house team.
This is a permanent, full-time position working 5 out of 6 days including Saturdays until 1600.

Responsibilities of the Optical Assistant

Your main responsibilities will be to manage the reception area and take charge of the practice’s administration. You will manage the director/optometrists diary and ensure that all patients are greeted and seen in a timely fashion. You will be responsible for ensuring that patients coming into the practice are comfortable and looked after before and after their sight tests. You will monitor stock levels and will be dealing with suppliers to ensure stock levels are maintained.

Requirement’s of the Optical Assistant

To apply for this position you will have experience of working within a busy optical practice. You will have excellent communication skills including a professional telephone manner. You will be well organised with a keen eye for detail and a strong personal work ethic. You will work closely with the store director to ensure that practice runs smoothly and that patients receive the very best service possible.

Compensation for the Qualified Optical Assistant

On offer is a basic salary of £20,000 – £25,000. You will receive 28 days of annual leave and the store is not open on Sundays or bank holidays. Also, you will be given the opportunity to develop your optical skills by doing different training and development courses.
