A very rare opportunity has become available with an independent chain looking for a resident Optometrist in one of their practices in Kent. This particular optician rarely has vacancies available as people don’t tend to move on due to the great environment.

” Up to £60,000 basic
” Full time 9am to 5:30pm with ALTERNATE SATURDAYS
” Great equipment – OCT, Optomap and Phoropter
” 50-minute testing times
” Supported by a Dispensing Optician in practice

I am currently working with an independent optical chain that have been established for over 70 years and have an outstanding reputation with their large and loyal patient base. This optician is currently looking for an experienced Optometrist in one of their practices in Kent.

This company has a wide range of frames which they pride themselves on to suit all budgets and they have a varied demographic. They have a very friendly and welcoming team in place that have all been in place for many years, who all work for each other to deliver the highest levels of care possible and they have a very good local reputation for excellence in customer care.

Responsibilities of the Optometrist

The ideal candidate will be a fully qualified Optometrist – open to the amount of experience.
Working full time, 5 days per week in one practice as the sole, resident Optometrist.
What’s important, is your ability to build rapport and converse with patients as pride themselves on excellent customer care.
Completing full eye-tests in 50-minute testing slots to provide excellent service to your patients, this will include OCT and Optomap as well as your own fields testing (all other pre-screening will be done by the support staff).
You will be working with all the latest equipment as previously mentioned in a relaxed calm environment surrounded by a close-knit friendly team.
This optician also provides Myopia management working with Ortha-K, offers dry-eye and other extra services.

Requirements of the Optometrist

Must be GOC registered.
Open to newly qualified or experienced but must be confident in their ability.
A friendly and personable demeanour and strong personal work ethic.
A customer-focused approach to your work and the ability to build a strong rapport with customers and colleagues alike.

Compensation for the Optometrist

For your efforts a competitive package is on offer
Up to £60,000 basic
Team-based bonus scheme
Sociable hours 9am to 5:30pm with alternate Saturdays, no Sundays and no late nights
Great equipment – OCT, Optomap and Phoropter around 3 years old
Professional fees covered – GOC and AOP
33 days holiday including Bank Holidays
Free parking provided by the company a 5-minute walk from the practice
