Optometry jobs at Specsavers
Optometrist, Fox Valley, Sheffield

About us:
Specsavers began more than 35 years ago with the vision of two optometrists, Doug and Mary Perkins, who set out to provide best-value eyecare to everybody. Their passion for optometry has led Specsavers to become the largest privately-owned optical group in the world, delivering high-quality, affordable optical and hearing care in 10 countries. And it continues to shape the lives and experience of thousands of colleagues who are developing their careers with us across the globe. We are proud of how far we’ve come as a business, now we want to see you grow with us too.

Specsavers in Fox Valley are looking for an ambitious and talented Optometrist. We’re a community-focused store dedicated to ensuring that every one of our customers receives an excellent patient experience. We’re seeking an Optometrist ready to use their passion and knowledge to help us build on our ever-growing and loyal customer base. Join us at Specsavers in Fox Valley where we deliver the very best in customer care.

What’s on Offer?

  • Competitive salary based on experience
  • Structured bonus scheme
  • Support with CET
  • Exceptional clinical and professional development opportunities
  • Access to cutting-edge clinical technology such as OCT

With a focus on flexibility, we are open to part-time applicants and will consider any working pattern to suit you. So, whether you need condensed hours or early finishes, we’re open to making it work – but let’s talk about that later.

We are passionate about the clinical development of our team, and as our new Optometrist, we would to support you with extra courses and specialisms that interest you. Whatever your ambitions, from WOPEC qualifications and independent prescribing to paediatric accreditations or enhanced optical services, we’ll do everything we can to help you be the best clinician you can be.

Our Optometrists are an integral part of our store management team, so we’re keen to get you up to speed outside the test room too. With ILM courses, Pre-Reg supervision and the Specsavers Partnership scheme (Pathway) all available to explore. Along with your clinical expertise – this will stand you in good stead if you choose to become a store director yourself one day.

Our brand new store is fully equipped with 3 test rooms and a team of 8 – which includes fully trained optical assistants, so everything is in place to let you focus on what you do best. Our experienced, diverse and friendly team are always on hand to offer support and take care of patient’s needs, meaning that as our new Optometrist, you can focus on offering a first-class sight test to our loyal customers.

The store is fitted with the latest clinical technology (including OCT). We offer enhanced clinical services including cataract appointments, minor eye condition services etc. We always aim to be the very best we can be – both clinically and in terms of customer service.

The Directors:
Every great team needs great leadership and at Fox Valley you’ll be led by Directors with fantastic success stories with Specsavers! Hitesh our Retail Partner, graduated in 2006 and has a wealth of Specsavers experience working his way up into management before completing ILM 3 and our Pathway program in 2018. Humma is our new Ophthalmic Director and graduated in 2011. She joined Specsavers in 2012 and has been with us ever since! She’s contributed to the success of our stores and as such has won multiple awards! She also completed ILM 3 and completed our Pathway program in 2018.

Here at Fox Valley you’ll be in the best hands to succeed in your career with Directors that have first hand knowledge of the progression paths you can follow!

What we’re looking for
Alongside being a qualified and GOC registered Optometrist, we are searching for someone who shares our store’s ethos. Someone who wants to grow, develop and offer exceptional customer care along the way. We want a practitioner who prides themselves on their clinical judgment, that isn’t afraid of a hands-on approach and who is keen to get involved and build rapport with the rest of the team. In summary, we’re looking for a skilled resident Optometrist to join us, be part of the team and assist in driving our practice forward.
