Inspired Selections are currently recruiting for an Optical Assistant to work with a high end independent in the Bournemouth area. This independent chain has been established over 25 years and in each practice there is a full supportive team with experienced Optical Assistants, Qualified Managers and Optometrists.
My client is now looking to add another Optical Assistant on a mobile basis between their practices all situated in the Bournemouth area. This would be to help the current team in doing what they do best – offering quality care and helping their patients.
This independent optician is devoted to customer care and cater for people who prefer to have more time spent with them to properly understand their eyesight needs in-depth.
Responsibilities of the Optical Assistant
This role will be split between two parts spending around 50% of the time helping with reception work and the admin within the practice, and the remainder backing up the Qualified Dispensing Optician helping with dispensing, fittings, frame adjustments and repairs, frame selection and styling advice.
Requirements of the Optical Assistant
The ideal candidate therefore, will be a person with a good grasp of detail able to complete admin/PC work carefully and accurately, as well as being a people person who can interact well with the customers whilst out on the shop floor.
Ideally 12 months minimum experience within an opticians where will you have gathered a good optical knowledge and be comfortable on the shopfloor, dispensing and dealing with patient’s needs.
Compensation for the Optical Assistant
For your efforts a competitive salary package up to £20,000 dependent on your experience is on offer, along with a strong bonus scheme and additional benefits. You will also have the opportunity to receive some further training and join a professional team in a fun and relaxed environment.
Holidays would be 28 days to include bank holidays, no Sundays or bank holidays. This working hours are 9:00-17:30 but closes early on Saturdays, no Sundays or Bank holidays.
