Optical Practice Manager

Are you an experienced Optical Practice Manager (Ideally a Dispensing Optician) living around the Guildford area looking for a new role in a well-established, family-run, independent opticians with an excellent reputation in the local community.

A very exciting opportunity has become available for an Optical Practice Manager on a full time, permanent basis with an independent optician. You will be leading and managing their small but experienced and close-knit team while growing and developing the business.
They have a great reputation, a loyal patient base and have a very friendly and relaxed feel.

My client is looking for an enthusiastic and committed individual with a passion for optics, a good, strong work ethic and someone who takes pride in doing a job to the best of their ability.
Located in an excellent location in a very nice town, this attractive practice is equipped to the highest standard and boasts an excellent customer base and a wide range of products.

Responsibilities of the Qualified Practice Manager

The ideal candidate will be GOC registered and up to date with all CET points and have had experience as both a Dispensing Optician and as a Manager looking after all areas of a business.
You will be a confident Manager who is more than capable of managing a small team, whilst leading from the front on the shopfloor and keeping a business mindset, always looking for ways to improve and develop the practice and increase profitability.

What is also important, is your ability to build rapport and converse with patients, while getting involved in the day to day tasks of the store.
You will be an experienced salesperson, but my client is looking for someone with the right ethics, that sell to customers who need and want to be helped, not sold to like a door to door salesperson.

Requirements of the Qualified Practice Manager

At least 5 years of experience as a Qualified Dispensing Optician – ideally within an independent.
An enthusiastic and friendly person with a strong work ethic and passion for optics, who takes pride in doing a job to the best of their ability.
A customer-focused approach to your work and the ability to build a strong rapport with customers and colleagues alike.
Must be confident in managing and leading a team
The main thing my client is looking for is the right personality to fit their ethos and team environment, consisting of being friendly, positive attitude, pro-active, fashionable, naturally caring, personable and energetic.

Compensation for the Qualified Practice Manager

For your efforts, a competitive basic salary of up to £30,000 to £35,000 is on offer.
Bonus from a profit share
Free parking only a 5-10 min walk from the practice.
You will also have the opportunity to join a professional team in a family-run independent optician with a fun and relaxed environment.
Working 9:00-5:30 Monday to Saturday with a day off in the week.
No Sundays or Bank holidays
