Newmedica is one of the leading providers of NHS-funded ophthalmology services in England.

We provide services for NHS CCGs, NHS Trusts and Foundation Trusts, and other providers of NHS funded services. We deliver over 125,000 patient interactions annually, including outpatient appointments, diagnostic testing and eye surgery. Our services are delivered through a variety of models including Managed Services and Ophthalmology Joint Venture (OJV) Partnerships.

 

ROLE SUMMARY

The Project Manager will manage cross-functional projects to successful outcomes in diverse areas of the Newmedica business to support the development of Newmedica systems and processes with the ultimate aim of enabling efficiencies in OJVs and Managed Services and across the Support Office.

These projects may include supply chain changes, business reconfiguration, process development, systems developments, new business activation & growth support.   This PM will lead cross-functional teams in the delivery of these projects and ensure that relevant business risks are accommodated, requirements are adequately assessed and that the business benefits are delivered in a timely fashion and with well-controlled costs.

The Project Manager will also provide support to subject matter experts in determining requirements and efficient ‘to be’ processes and procedures to underpin business changes.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Chairing and leading cross-functional project meetings and driving the agenda
  • Compiling project scope, project plans with a business case, critical path, key milestones, outcome metrics, resource requirements and risk analysis
  • Project monitoring, including the updating of project sponsors and Main Board members with key updates when required
  • Managing project costs and the timely delivery of the project benefits, effectively resolving issues and removing barriers
  • Playing a key role in supporting subject matter experts (SME) to explore requirements and determining requirements to ensure an efficient process for end users.
  • Working closely with the Business Change Manager to developing the change management plan to ensure successful implementation of the project.
  • Carrying out project reviews to evaluate the success of projects and the key business learnings

 

  • SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES
  • PRINCE2 qualified (or equivalent)
  • Proven track record of delivering change within a complex, multi-site organisation and driving results
  • Ability to run more than one project at once
  • Significant understanding of Change management frameworks/ability to develop people impact assessments and communication strategies
  • Project management experience in a fast moving environment (demonstrate flexibility and agility)
  • IT literate, with MS office experience (particularly Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Good presentational skills
  • Experience of project management within healthcare organisation is desirable
  • Strong communicator with the ability to successfully influence at all levels of the organization
  • Good team player with the ability to foster strong relationships cross-functionally and ability to work effectively within a matrix structure
  • Strong organisational skills and an eye for detail
  • Ability to see the bigger picture, consider broader implications and think strategically
  • Keen interest in process redevelopment
  • Ability to simplify complex issues and bring a structured approach to planning and project execution
