This is an opportunity to work with a well established franchise of one of the biggest branded opticians in the UK, this long-standing and well-known practice has recently had a change of directors who come with proven success and an extensive background in optics.

They are busy and have regular full-clinics and are looking to add to their team – not every opticians can stand by this statement during a pandemic and a lockdown, so just think what they can do for you and your career.

They are now looking for Optical Assistant to join their friendly, supportive team in their practice in Southampton City Centre. If you are looking for career development with a genuine opportunity for progression then there is no need to look any further.

Responsibilities of the Optical Assistant

The role will entail dispensing spectacles to all levels, conducting pre-screen tests and contact lens teaches. You will also be required to carry out frame styling, adjustments, collections and give patients advice on best options.
Reception duties and general admin will also be a part of the role and helping with the smooth running of the practice.

Requirements of the Optical Assistant

As an Optical Assistant within this practice you will work on the shopfloor in the dispensing team.
You will ideally have a minimum of 12 months’ experience within optics
Must be able to work full time, 5-days per week including one weekend day
Must be able to dispense to all levels comfortably.

As a member of the stores team you will have a valued input with best practice and clinical compliance.

Compensation for the Optical Assistant

For your efforts a salary of up to £18,500 is on offer dependant on your experience, along with additional benefits.
Hours are 40 hours over 5-days, working 9:00-5:30 with a 30 min lunch and will include 1 weekend day.
You will also have the opportunity to receive some further training and join a professional team in a fun and relaxed environment.
