Optometrist Position

This practice is located in a vibrant town centre with plenty of shops and cafes on your doorstep, not to mention the beach is just a short drive away. The practice has just had a brand-new refurb and is complemented by a supportive team, which includes, QDO’s, trained Optical Assistants and an experienced Practice Manager. The team will assist you in your optometric duties; they will complete the field screening and pressures of each patient for you. In this role, you will provide excellence in clinical care to your patients and work as part of a team of 45. You will be responsible for providing eye tests, contact lens fitting, as well as aftercare advice, maintaining accurate patient records and keeping up to date with product and professional knowledge.

Responsibilities of the Optometrist

You will have a testing time of 30 minutes and also be clinically sensitive to the needs of the patient, yet understand the commercial requirements of the business. You will able to demonstrate your commercial understanding by making suitable recommendations in accordance to the patients’ prescription within the consulting room, then relaying this information to the Optical Assistant at the handover stage. You will be on hand to answer any difficult questions and share your clinical knowledge with patients and the team. It paramount you integrate into this close-knit team and demonstrate a real passion for your role.

Requirements of the Optometrist

To apply for this position, you will need to be a fully qualified optometrist who is CORU Reregistered and up to date with all CET requirements. You will be hard working and clinically minded who is passionate about customer service and patient care. You will have a successful career to date and be able to demonstrate great interpersonal skills, knowledge and expertise in your specialist field. It is vitally important that you have a flexible working attitude ensuring that the patient is always put first.

¢ Monday – Saturday 9-5:00pm + 1 late until 8pm ¢ Professional fees paid      ¢ One weekend off a month
