Optical Lab Technician

My client is family owned, independent opticians, who have been established for more than 50 years. They started with one practice, but have grown to five. The company still maintain the strong tradition of family eye care and quality products which have always made the practices so successful.

They are currently looking to recruit an experienced Lab Technician to join them at one of their group of practices. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned Optical Technician who has great personality skills, and takes pride in their work.

Responsibilities of the Optical Lab Technician

Your role will be to work along side another experienced lab technician within this practice. You will undertake all of the glazing from the groups jobs which will be around 50+ jobs per day as well as managing stock levels, informing customers of the order’ status and maintaining equipment, occasional deliveries and adjustments will also be a part of this roles duties.
*They have two WECO’s in use, one, state of the art, the other an older model.

Requirements of the Optical Lab Technician

To apply for this position, you will need to be an experienced Lab Technician who is able to glaze to all levels including rimless. You will be able to remain focused and self-motivate when working alone and you will be a very well organised person with a keen eye for detail.
The working hours are Mon-Fri 9-5.30 & Sat 9-4.30 with a day off to be agreed with the owner.

Compensation for the Optical Lab Technician

A basic salary of up to £18k – £23k DOE is on offer.
