With a new start at Specsavers, there’s no telling how far you’ll go.

Specsavers has been going from strength to strength, ever since the business started back in 1984. We strive for the highest clinical standards – and believe that the customer should be at the heart of everything we do. We also recognise that our people are critical to our past and future success – so we do everything we can to make sure they get the experience and career they’re looking for: from outstanding training and a personal development plan, to excellent benefits and unstinting support.

You’ve got the skills, experience and the drive. Now you’ve found the business that shares your ambition: welcome to Specsavers. Over almost 35 years, Specsavers have become the number one provider of professional eyecare in the UK – and we don’t intend to stop there. With our outstanding training and ever-growing business, there’s every opportunity to advance and excel.

As a Laboratory Technician/ Optical Assistant in Kenilworth, you’ll be able to enjoy the benefits of a dual role; In the lab you'll be preparing customer prescriptions to the highest standards and using the latest computer-controlled equipment. It’s all about providing an excellent single vision glazing service that helps the store to maximise sales and profitability. One day you could be repairing spectacles, the next, you could be glazing and tinting single vision lenses. And on the shop floor, you’ll make sure every customer gets a great experience when they come into our store. It means listening to what they want, explaining our offers and products, and dispensing single vision, bifocal and varifocal lenses. You’ll work to NHS guidelines (as well as our own high standards), give good, clear advice and make a positive impression, thanks to your polite and professional approach. The important thing is that you’ll be learning all the time – building on your knowledge with the help of your expert colleagues.

This is a fantastic opportunity for either a Lab Tech or an Optical Assistant to be trained in both disciplines. Working between both lab and the shop floor.

An eye for detail is a must. You should also be good with people and able to work as part of a team. You’ll be friendly and organised too, presenting a professional image to customers at all times. Above all, you’ll have previous experience as a Lab Technician, and be ready to learn more.
