I have a very exciting opportunity that has just become available within a busy multiple practice with a relaxed independent feel in a busy town outside of Bedford. The role is for an experienced Optical Assistant on a permanent full-time contract.

This practice is very well established and has a very strong local customer base. This is a busy store with a large team and due to continued success they are looking to add somebody to the team who can help support the team and grow with the practice

You will be joining a very supportive and family feel type of team who all work together to ensure a smooth and engaging customer journey. The team pride themselves on making sure they provide excellent customer care to all that walk through the doors, whether it is a simple adjustment or full eye examination.

Responsibilities of the Optical Assistant

The role will entail dispensing spectacles to all levels, conducting pre-screen tests and contact lens teaches. You will also be required to carry out frame styling and give patients advice on options. Reception duties and general admin will also be a part of the role and helping with the smooth running of the practice.

Requirements of the Optical Assistant

At least 1 year of experience as an Optical Assistant ideally within a busy practice.
A friendly and personable demeanour and strong personal work ethic.
An up beat and “can-do attitude” is a must in this practice.
You will be flexible with regards to days of work around rota’s and be open to taking on any task within the optician.
A customer focused approach to your work and the ability to build a strong rapport with customers and colleagues alike.

Compensation for the Optical Assistant

For your efforts a competitive salary of up to £18,000 is on offer along with progression opportunities to develop onto the DO course.
You will also have the opportunity to receive some further training, progress and join a professional team in a fun and relaxed environment.
