Store – Kettering

Position – Optometrist

Be part of a big-name brand that cares about the little things.

Join our team as an Optometrist at Kettering Specsavers, where we recognise that our people are critical to our past and future success. Here, we do everything we can to make sure our team get the experience and career they’re looking for; from market-leading training and access to cutting-edge technology to a personal development plan built around you.

The Role in a Nutshell.

  • Outstanding annual salary based on experience – we can talk more about this at interview
  • A highly-rewarding performance-based bonus scheme
  • Generous holiday allowance of 33 days
  • Private health cover
  • Pension contribution
  • Support with CET
  • Exceptional clinical and professional development opportunities
  • Access to cutting-edge clinical technology such as OCT
  • Flexible working hours
  • Opportunity to work between multiple stores for a varied week

With a focus on flexibility, we are open to full-time and part-time applicants and will consider any working pattern to suit you, whether you need condensed hours, we’re open to making it work - but let’s talk about that later.

We are passionate about your clinical development as an optical professional and we are committed to supporting you on extra courses and specialisms that interest you. Whatever your ambitions, from WOPEC qualifications and Independent Prescribing to Paediatric Accreditations and Enhanced Optical Services, we’ll do everything we can to help you be the best clinician you can be.

Our Optometrists are the face of our professional practice and usually an integral part of our store management team, so we’re keen to get you up to speed outside the test room too. With ILM courses, pre-reg supervision and Specsavers Partnership Pathway available, we can guide you on your way to becoming a great leader. This – along with your clinical expertise – will stand you in good stead if you choose to become a store director yourself one day.

Our forward-thinking store continues to expand and provide the career development opportunities that come with such continued growth. We’re equipped with 8 test rooms, cutting-edge technology, up-to-date ophthalmic equipment and a team 35 members strong - including optical assistants trained in pre and post-screening, so everything is in place to let you focus on what you do best.

Then there’s you.

Alongside being a qualified and GOC registered Optometrist, we are searching for someone who shares our store’s ethos. Someone who wants to grow, develop and offer exceptional customer care along the way. We want a practitioner who prides themselves on their clinical judgment, that isn’t afraid of a hands-on approach and who is keen to get involved and build rapport with the rest of the team. In summary, we’re looking for a skilled resident Optometrist to join us, be part of the team and assist in driving our practice forward.
