My client is a chain of opticians, who have been established for 80 years with nearly 200 practices across the UK. They are now looking for an Optical Practice Manager to look after one of their busy practices in the Dorset area.
You will be working with a small team in a 3 day per week testing practice and you will be expected to manage the team, work towards targets and offer any support to fellow colleagues while also still being heavily involved with the dispensing and day to day running of the practice.
You will also have support from shopfloor staff and a Qualified Dispensing Optician in practice
Responsibilities of the Optical Practice Manager
You will work within a busy practice in an all around role. You will be helping patients with all their eye and hearing care needs, including contact lenses, designer frames, NHS eye care and hearing health checks. You will be dispensing spectacles and making sales as well as undertaking pre-screening, contact lens teaches and associated admin work.
You will be working in a medium sized team and be able to support and motivate the team working towards targets and KPI’s.
Requirements for the Optical Practice Manager
What is most important for this role is the level of management experience; the right person will have ideally had previous retail management experience before coming to the world of optics and will be comfortable with managing a team, increasing KPI’s and driving a business
You will need a minimum of 2 years experience within optics – open to qualified or unqualified but will affect salary.
It is essential you can dispense spectacles to all levels as will be a very hands on role.
Compensation for the Optical Practice Manager
On offer for the right person is a competitive salary of up to £25,000 plus a Managerial Bonus Scheme as well as the opportunity to further your career. You will have 28 days holiday. NO Sunday’s
