” Hours – 9am to 5:30pm in the week and 9am to 5pm on Saturdays, (1 in 4 Saturdays off)
” Package – up to £60,000 basic

” Test time – 45-minute testing to include OCT and pre-screening
This particular optician is looking to change the way they work in a number of ways.
One being to ideally increase testing days as they have a large regular patient base with a backlog of patients looking to come into the practice to be seen. Because of this they are ideally looking for a full-time Optometrist but could be open to 3-5 days.
Another would be to increase the level of services they offer and move into sports vision, colorimetry, diabetic screening, dry eye and more so, therefore needs an experienced Optometrist either with this background and experience or at least open to development and be put on training courses to go into these areas.
Responsibilities of the Optometrist
You will be in a large, modern test room completing eye tests in 45-minute appointments which will include pre-screening and OCT.
You will be able to provide excellent customer service and speak with your patients in a friendly, confident yet professional manner.
Be a key part of the company and work with the team to help drive business.
Although the patient focus is a big part of the role my client is also looking for someone hands-on and commercially aware
Requirements of the Optometrist
Minimum 2 years post qualification experience.
You’ll be a well-rounded Optometrist and have a good balance between clinically focussed and being commercial awareness.
You will be on hand to help drive the practice in a variety of different areas.
You must be GOC registered and up to date with CET points.
Be able to provide excellent service to each and every patient.
Be driven and want to develop within your role.
You will possess excellent communication skills and will be passionate about delivering the highest possible levels of care.
You will be hardworking and dynamic – happy to go the extra mile.
Compensation of the Optometrist
For the right person depending on experience, this optician is offering a competitive basic salary of up to £60,000 as well as other benefits such as paid fees, free parking, 1 in 4 weekends off, sociable working hours with no late nights, Sundays or Bank Holidays and more.
You will also have the opportunity to develop clinically and be involved in a number of extra services such as sports vision, colorimetry, diabetic screening, dry eye and more.
